Asas was approached by a large global organization in oil and gas industry. Their problem was the failure rate of employees in course that were critical to carry out their work in a safe and competent manner.
On analysing the issue, it became clear that many staff did not have the level of understanding in English to successfully take the courses required.
Asas recommended that all staff requiring training should undertake an online assessment of their competency in English (written, oral, listening and reading). Following the assessments our course mapping guide was used to determine what further online English study would be required to bring the employee to a level of competence that would allow the individual to successfully complete the courses.
This ensured that the company did not waste the training budget on putting staff onto courses which they would fail.
